A little gem in the heart of Herne Bay, self contained accommodation in the Yard at "She Rose". Only steps away from the sea, shops and restaurants in Herne Bay. The Little Ship is within the residence of artist Jo Oakley and is an extension of her eclectic home.
"When I moved in to the property in January 2020 there was a dilapidated shed, the roof was leaky and while I knew it needed to be completely replaced I could see what a great spot it was for a studio. A complete rebuild has given new life and opportunity to a once derelict building. "
The building before the work started.
Self contained studio with French Doors that open on to The Yard where you are welcome to sit and enjoy time in the sun trap. Windows from The Little Ship look out on to a plant filled courtyard.
The accommodation is perfectly spacious enough for two, with a comfortable double bed, and a sofa to relax on. Filled with art work and vintage finds within a calming space.
Children can be accommodated on the sofa bed, please contact Jo directly to arrange this.
The studio offers a sink, kettle and fridge. A couple of chairs and a small work top provide a spot for morning coffee! Speak to Jo for local recommendations for places to eat.
Just off the main space is a shower room, which as you would expect comes with it's own unique flair! A fabulous swan tap at the basin and the shower wall is adorned with one of Jo Oakley's copper printing plates.
